Quello che penso di Alex, oltre ad essere un amico sincero, per me è un grande artista. Ciò che lo contraddistingue da tutti gli altri tatuatori è il segno indelebile che è riuscito a lasciare nel mondo del tatuaggio e dell’arte. Lo reputo il più grande imprenditore nella storia del tatuaggio e questo lo manterrà per sempre vivo. È una di quelle persone che non ha solo la mia stima lavorativa, ma anche personale poiché è uno di quei tatuatori che considero “leggendari”.

You can’t speak of color realism without mentioning Alex de Pase, an artist pioneer in this style and who has been a direct influence for me. The effortlessness of his portraits and his realistic touch made me wonder if I was looking directly at a photograph or a tattoo. His effort to share his knowledge and support for those of us who started a little later has also earned Alex not only my respect but that of many colleagues who today follow in his footsteps.

First aware mid 2000’s. Accomplished tattooer, Alex’s work stood above the rest. Both Original art and Relaism tattooed exceptionally well. When I asked for more original art from Alex, he apologized, said it was too easy, and he explained he was diving into the technical challenges of realism. Clearly the right move, he has since tattooed countless portraits, and has even had pop songs written celebrating his realistic tattoo work. “My love for you is as real as an Alex De Pase tattoo”! But the depth of Alex’s impact go much farther than changing clients lives and inspiring pop songs.
